Stylized Storage Containers for the Kitchen

When I needed some new storage tins for my kitchen, I picked up some plain tin containers for a song. To add some colour and whimsy I used chalk paint, masking tape and chalk to give my containers a special look that was unique to my kitchen!

Adding patterns to standard tins adds another layer of colour and texture to the kitchen.

Here is the tin I started with

and the round tins look like this

Painter's Tape applied before painting with chalk paint

Paint finished and tape removed.

More chalk paint and the letters are drawn on with white chalk

Even tea light holders can be painted!

Now I have pretty country style storage tins that match my decor.

and it all coordinates with my new kitchen step stool
