Pottery Barn, you have to be kidding me!
Sure those Christmas ornaments are cute. But are they $16.50 worth of cute?
I don't think so, especially when I can knockoff version using inexpensive items from the craft store and old gift boxes.
Inspired by some expensive shadowbox ornaments I saw at the Pottery Barn Outlet, I founded up some craft supplies -- cardstock, dollhouse miniatures, some tiny bottle brush trees, garland ties, ribbon, a holiday stamp, a stamp pad and the lid from a holiday gift box and made my own. The results are adorable.
You can see more examples in my blog post.

Cut a piece of black cad stock to fit inside a small gift box.
Use hot glue to attach a garland tie, pipe cleaner or decorative ribbon to the inside of the box on three sides.
Using a holiday stamp and white ink, add a holiday inside the box.
Use hot glue to attach miniature figurines and bottlebrush trees to the bottom of the box. Hot glue quilt batting around the figures and trees as snow, being careful not to burn your fingers.
Attach a festive ribbon to the back of the box using hot glue to make a hanger.
You can also use a chalk marker to color on snowflakes, or you can line the back of the box with patterned scrapbook paper.
