Holiday Home Tour 2015 Birch Tree Theme - Welcome to the Woods Blog

It's finally ready! My home is all decked for the holidays and I'd love to give you a tour around. Unfortunately I didn't get finished in time to include it in the blog hop, but I'm hoping I'm not too late to give you some inspiration.
So many of my decorations are new this year! Of course I didn't buy them, I've been super busy since Thanksgiving creating them! My new saying is, "Don't Buy, DIY!" This year you'll see lots of green, red, white, and blue. The overlying theme I picked is birch trees. Get ready for a lot of pictures and welcome to my holiday home tour...

So let's get started with the front entrance since this is the first thing you see when coming to my house.
This vase arrangement I made from real birch branches and evergreen cuttings I foraged in the woods near my house.

These topiaries I made myself and there are two flanking my garage. Tutorial coming Monday on my blog!
Now let's go inside!

Our living room greets guests with tons of holiday cheer. The couches are cozy and the vibe is wintery. I replaced my abstract family painting temporarily with this gorgeous image of a birch forest.

This cozy little pillow I made from an old sweater. Check out how to make a seasonal pillow cover from the tutorial on my blog, or my most recent post on Hometalk for the blog hop.

This year my tree colors are red, green, bright blue, and white. The little red ribbons and glittery star topper make the tree festive and fun. This year even our gift wrap matches!

I also bought a poinsettia for our window. I LOVE it and know I will probably buy even more next year.

Our buffet dresser holds some of my favorite little decorations, from the evergreen arrangement to the homemade wall decor.

Atop the barn window table I made, I placed some DIY tree cones. These were so simple and cost next to nothing to create!

Look beyond to our dining room and you'll see a Christmas tablescape that's simple and cozy. The placemats resemble sweater fabric and the plates hold large snowflake ornaments.

Our table is small, but with the table set it still looks inviting. In the background you see another piece of wall art I made just for this year's decorations.

In the hallway, you'll find a homemade grapevine wreath decorating our thermostat (is there any other way to detract attention from these annoying little things?).

And I strung a slew of clear ornaments onto a ribbon and hung it across our mirror.
