Girl Scout Themed "Make New Friends" Ornaments

I needed an easy ornament to make with a troop of 1st grade Daisy scouts, since we were decorating a tree at a homeless shelter as a community service project.
Because one of the well known Girl Scout songs is "Make New Friends" which talks about friends being valuable as silver and gold, I decided to go with that theme.
Using metallic basket filler and empty plastic globe ornaments, the girls were able to create dozens of beautiful ornaments quickly and inexpensively. I made simple chipboard tags for each one (and the printable is available at the link below if you would like to duplicate these ornaments as well)
The shelter tree was gorgeous and sparkly.. and the message behind the ornaments was just as beautiful.

The supplies were inexpensive. 2 bags of "shred" were enough to do at least 100 ornaments.
