On my Pinterest board, I have several DYI projects for Mercury Glass Mason Jars. But I didn't want to do mason jars because I love my little blue mason jars and have no desire to change their color. And I didn't want to go out and buy new mason jars for this project.
As you all know (because everyone but ME has created a mercury glass project) you mix equal parts of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. You spray the mixture on the bottle and them immediately follow that with the Looking Glass spray paint. If you check out the link on the first photo, you will find she did it a different way. That's not the way I did it, I just liked that photo better. :-)
Wait for the paint to dry and then wipe off to pop the water bubbles and you have a mercury glass look. Well, I did that, and I didn't like the look.
After the first coat of everything dried, I sprayed on another coat. Vinegar and water followed by a coat of paint. Let it dry. Then a 3rd coat, followed by a 4th coat. Only after the 4th coat was I satisfied with the look.
