If you're like me, you've used sweaters from Goodwill in all sorts of crafting...creating pumpkins, stockings, sleeves for vases and more. But I have another sweater craft to share with you, and it might be the cutest one yet - sweater snowmen! These cheeky little fellows are full of personality and charm, and don't worry...they're easy to make and NO sew!!Their faces are created with common ingredients that you're likely to have in your home - no need to run out to the store and purchase a bunch of supplies! But I'm getting ahead of myself. Here's how you make a DIY sweater snowman!
Each snowman is made from a sweater sleeve, and the softer the better! Turn sleeve inside out and cut.
Tie one end tightly shut with a rubber band. (Note: if your sweater has a thick cuff, you'll want to cut that off first to reduce the bulk).
Turn right side out and fill full of rice, then tie the top tightly with another rubber band.
Your snowman should look like this. Using ribbon or twine, create the segments by tying twine about 2/3 of the way down the body to create a head and body.
With just a few more steps, and a little hot glue, you will have an adorable snowman that will love to sit just about everywhere in your Christmas home!
Perch a trio on your mantle or under the Christmas tree! You can never have too many of these sweet little guys! Each one is unique and their personalities really shine through once their faces are added.
You can find the rest of the tutorial over at diy beautify...including fun use for a sock! Just click on the link below for the complete tutorial. Happy crafting! I'd love to know if you make one, please let me know in the comments.
